Gala Dinner Takes A4C Charity Raise to €110,000
Amsterdam, 15 October 2015 – The Dutch alternative investments community raised €18,000 from the lottery and auction for the Alternatives4Children charity foundation at its recent fifth annual Black Tie Dinner, to take A4C’s total for the year to €110,000 (net of costs). The event held at Amsterdam’s Sofitel Legend The Grand Hotel, as is traditional on the first Thursday in October, saw over 140 industry professionals show their support for the foundation through sponsorship, a lottery and a charity auction.
Marc de Kloe, Co-founder of A4C and managing director at Adamas Asset Management, said: “This annual event is a great opportunity to bring together members of the Dutch alternative financial industry who can network and at the same time raise funds for a shared objective. By buying a ticket and participating in our lottery and auction — where great prizes can be won — the industry shows it can be a force for good in the world. The management team and the volunteers of A4C are very thankful to all the donors for being so generous.”
The funds raised allow A4C to financially contribute to smaller charity projects around the world, which are all focused on children’s education. Seven projects are currently supported by A4C including: Edelweiss School in Bangalore (India), Reckoning in The Netherlands, Kamitei in Tanzania, Tiny Miracles in Mumbai (India), Kanaka in Ghana, Macheo in Kenya and Kuychi/Ninos del Arco Iris in Peru.
Sophie Robé, Co-founder of A4C and founder of Phenix Capital, said: “What matters is that we try to give these children the same chances as we can give to our own children. The support we received at the Gala Dinner 2015 enables us to contribute to that aim; to directly affect the lives of so many children in need across the globe by giving them access to education and helping them to build a better future.”
The next event organised by Alternatives4Children will be Legends 4 Legends in Q1 at the Amsterdam EYE Film Museum. This is going to be a unique investment event bringing together the leading investment legends of today and tomorrow with the aim of building a legend for children.
