Alternatives 4 Children appoints Marjolijn Breeuwer and Peter Vermeulen as directors and moves to a one-tier board

Alternatives 4 Children (A4C), the charitable foundation of the (alternative) financial industry, is pleased to report that Marjolijn Breeuwer, Bank Head of Investment Management at InsingerGilissen (Quintet Private Bank), and Peter Vermeulen, Advisor of Plethora Precious Metals Fund & Plethora Private Equity, have joined the board of directors.

Together with their appointment, the governance structure of A4C has been simplified to a one-tier board, increasing its effectiveness, and in line with anticipated rules and regulations.

Marc de Kloe, Co-founder of A4C and partner of Theta Capital Management: “We are very grateful to have two new dynamic and highly motivated Directors: their energy will with no doubt contribute to A4C’s impactful future. We also take the opportunity to thank our former Board as well as all the volunteers that have helped through the years!”

Marjolijn: “I am very pleased to formally join the Board of A4C. As I have learned in the past couple years A4C is a great charity, well-run by a passionate and dedicated group of volunteers and founders. We have a great opportunity to further develop our support for fantastic projects with a very tangible impact on children in less developed regions of the world. I am looking forward to continuing to work with our great team and projects.”

Peter: “I have been attending A4C events since its launch in 2011, and was always impressed by the dedication of its volunteers. Early last year the time had come to join A4C as an active volunteer, an experience I can highly recommend. This pleasant cooperation now resulted in a board position. Together with the whole A4C team, I am very motivated to support the goals of this wonderful charity, focused on providing children access to (better) education.”

Save the date
The annual fundraiser of Alternatives 4 Children, the Legends4Legends conference at the Amsterdam EYE Film Museum, will be held on October 27, 2022. This is a unique investment event that brings together today’s investment Legends shaping the investment world to create a future for the children of tomorrow. This event is a great opportunity for the members of the Dutch (alternative) financial industry to learn from Legends, network and at the same time give back.

With the funds raised, A4C can support promising small to medium sized charity projects around the world, which are all primarily focused on children’s education. Five projects are currently supported by A4C including: Vonisha Bridge School in Bangalore (India), Tiny Miracles in Mumbai (India), Kamitei in Tanzania, Kanaka in Ghana, and Macheo in Kenya.
