The Dutch Financial Alternatives Community raises more than €13,000 to provide Alternatives for Children

On the 10th of May over 100 professionals from the Dutch financial alternatives community came together to show their support for the fund raising initiative of the Alternatives 4 Children foundation. During a special Spring Party Event at Strand Zuid, the foundation raised more than €13,000 after costs for better education of children in Bangalore and Mali.

This support will enable Alternatives 4 Children to contribute to the running costs of different small projects, such as a slum school in Bangalore, or a school community in Mali. The foundation is currently reviewing to support children through 2 others projects, one which is based in the Netherlands.

During this Spring Event over 100 professionals from the Dutch financial alternatives community celebrated Spring, caught up with each other, and donated €13,000 by buying entry and lottery tickets and participated in a special game of mini golf, which in this current environment is a major achievement and shows that the alternative investment industry can be a force for good.

The volunteers and management team of Alternatives 4 Children would like to thank all the participants of this Spring Party, the sponsors and donors for being so generous.

“The fact that we had – despite the cold and rainy weather – so many participants demonstrates that the Alternatives Community here in the Netherlands is really thriving, which is happy to participate as well as to actively give back. It is also very encouraging to notice that a growing number of people are attending our events!” Says Marc de Kloe, Head of Alternative Investments at ABN Amro and co-founder of the Alternatives 4 Children Foundation.

“Their support enables us to provide an alternative to those children who unfortunately are born or live in more challenging environments. This is a clear signal that social responsibility and Providing alternatives 4 children aiding others in need is an increasing priority for many in the investment community.” explains Sophie Robe, Director Jupiter Asset Management and co-founder of the Alternatives 4 Children Foundation.

“It’s very encouraging to see the commitment of the members of the foundation and their efforts to enhance the life of children in developing and developed countries. They have organized a truly fantastic evening.” Says Remco Bleijs, Director Alternative Investments and Sustainability Services at Ernst & Young and member of the supervisory board of the foundation.

The next event which Alternatives 4 Children organizes for the Dutch financial alternatives community is a golf event on June 6th and a gala dinner on October 3rd.

The golf event will take place next month on the 6th of June. During this event, members of the Dutch investment community can team up with colleagues, co-workers and clients to play golf. For those who like to attend, but can’t play golf, A4C comes to the rescue by providing a golf clinic. Group (4 persons) and individual tickets are still available on our website: www.a4c.nl
