Day for change is Dutch charity aiming to develop microcredit awareness and entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. Day for change is focusing on educating the future generation through schools. Alternatives 4 Children is proud to sponsor Day for change’s initiative the roll out of a microcredit, entrepreneurial and social program through BSOs and weekend schools that will extend the reach of the program.
Microcredit
Is the extension of very small loans (microloans) to impoverished borrowers who typically lack collateral, steady employment and a verifiable credit history. It is designed not only to support entrepreneurship and alleviate poverty, but also in many cases to empower women and uplift entire communities by extension.
Day For Change
Is a Netherlands based charitable organization and was created in 2006 by M. Essink, A Hoogendijk and D. Laman Trip.
Their goal is to educate the future generation about microcredit, entrepreneurship, value of the money and also about social responsibility. By partnering with schools they make sure our children will grow with more awareness about what they can achieve and also how they can make a difference in tomorrow’s world.
Why is A4C sponsoring Day For Change?
A4C is proud to sponsor their new pilot project: the roll out of a microcredit, entrepreneurial and social program through BSOs and weekend schools.
The goal is to reach out more children and in particular underprivileged ones. They have chosen the Aflatoun method, an internationally recognized and successful concept to provide them with the best and most appropriate financial and social education.
The whole program is very much in line with A4C’s own community: finance and entrepreneurship. The program is based on a worldwide acclaimed method -Aflatoun-. By enabling Day For Change to run a pilot project, they potentially will be able to reach many more children through the channel of the BSOs.
